Case Study 84 – Missing a lower right first molar, and camouflaged the absence of both with moving the other teeth forward

Treatment was with braces in the Damon System customized with Insignia.  Treatment was to address the absence of her lower right first molar. Total treatment time was about 32 months with braces.  We were able to camouflage the absence of the lower right first molar by moving the lower right second molar and wisdom tooth forward, so she did not have a dental implant to restore the missing tooth.  We used a TAD (temporary anchorage device) to assist with the forward movement of her lower right molars.  The TAD was removed and there is not any evidence that id had ever been placed…. again, a TAD is a “temporary” anchorage device. Treatment was without a palatal expander.  She had treatment prior to implementation of custom treatment protocols with Insignia.
