Case Study 48- Crossbite

This patient had a crossbite of all four upper front teeth. He wore a retainer for about 4 months full time to address his crossbite after which he wore the retainer while sleeping. He did not return to the office for a couple of years. When he eventually returned, his remaining permanent teeth had erupted, but he returned with a space between his upper two front teeth. We made him another retainer to close the space between the upper two front teeth, and he did not return to our office again which, based on previous habits, was due to treatment having been successful. He had been advised to wear his retainer at night times long-term once the space closed.
