Case Study 46 – Frankel

This patient had phase I/early treatment due to the significant misalignment of his upper front teeth and due to his lower jaw being too far back relative to the upper jaw. He had braces his upper front teeth for about 6 months followed by a Frankel retainer for about 8 months with full time wear. He then wore the retainer at night time until his remaining permanent teeth had erupted at which time he had phase II treatment with braces in the Damon System customized with Insignia for an additional 15 months. Total treatment time was about 29 months in two separate phases. Treatment was done without removal of permanent teeth and was done without a palatal expander.
