Phase I treatment was recommended for this patient, but his family chose not to proceed. Two and a half years after the initial recommendation to proceed with orthodontic treatment and when he returned to our office without having proceeded with treatment. During that two and a half years, he experienced significant wear on his permanent upper front teeth. Correction of the anterior crossbite as had been recommended might have reduced his chances of experiencing wear on his permanent upper front teeth.
