What's New! While there is always something new going on at our office, we have decided to highlight a few of the important topics that you might find interesting.

Dr. Emily Bandeen has joined the practice:  Dr. Emily Bandeen is a dentist.  She has joined Bandeen Orthodontics full time to help both clinically and administratively.   As a dentist, Dr. Emily brings her own skills and abilities to our office that will help your orthodontic care go more smoothly.  Dr. Emily will not be seeing patients for general dentistry at our office becaues she is helping us provide orthodontic care.  We are very excited to have her with us, and her presence has made our office better than ever!



 

Insignia and the Damon System:  You may think that orthodontic treatment will always take a couple of years.  Actually, with the Damon System braces, our treatment times have dropped significantly - as much as 6 to 12 months less than with traditional braces in our office while maintaining or exceeding previous standards of quality. Many offices find that they have to use treatment supplemented with computerized bracket placement to achieve treatment times that are close to that achieved by the Damon System.  Now, imagine adding computerized bracket placement and customized wires to the already superior treatment advantages of the Damon System.  That is what Damon Insignia offers.  Insignia is a fully interactive software and custom appliance system designed to give every patient a truly customized smile.  It's a precise, start-to-finish process delivering increased clinical efficiency.  With Insignia, we still use the Damon System braces, but each brace is custom placed for you and the wires are custom made to fit you.  An exciting development is that Insignia will soon offer custom made braces - something that no other system of braces will be able to offer.  This level of customization is possible because Insignia is a part of the same company that makes the Damon System braces. In other words, it will be like going to the shoe store for custom made shoes instead of having to pick from the available sizes.  This coming step will leave all other computerized bracket systems behind. The Damon System:
The braces that we use are known as Damon™ orthodontic braces.  This system of braces is truly unique and is always on the cutting edge (which is why we mention them on our "What's New?" page)  Want to learn more?  Click here to watch a movie about The Damon™ System of orthodontics.  Actually, the folks who make the Damon™ braces are constantly seeking to improve upon what is already the best system of braces available, and the next generation of Damon™ orthodontic braces will be in our office either late 2009 or early 2010.  The newest of the Damon™ orthodontic braces is known as the Damon Q™.     The most important aspect of this system of braces is the mechanical advantage that is provided by the low friction interaction with the orthodontic wires, a category where the Damon™ System is beyond compare.  The drastic reduction of friction provided by this system results in greater efficiency and greater comfort. A very exciting development is that in spring of 2010, a completely clear version of Damon Q™ will be released.  The release of the completely clear Damon Q™ will mean that the Damon System will be the world leader in both treatment mechanics and aesthetics.
