Bandeen Orthodontics: What's New!

What's New! While there is always something new going on at our office, we have decided to highlight a few of the important topics that you might find interesting.

Dr. Emily Bandeen has joined the practice: Dr. Emily Bandeen, the wife of Dr. Tim Bandeen, is a dentist. She has joined Bandeen Orthodontics full time to help both clinically and administratively. She will be acting in a supportive role to Dr. Tim Bandeen as he performs your orthodontic treatment. As a dentist, Dr. Emily brings a unique and helpful skill set to the office. She also is going to be able to help us with lab work and administrative tasks so that Dr. Tim can focus even more on patient care. Dr. Emily will NOT be seeing patients for general dentistry while at our office because she will be helping us with your orthodontic care. We are VERY excited to have her with us. We're trying to introduce her to as many of our patients as possible, so if you see her in the office, please say hello.

Insignia and the Damon System: You may think that orthodontic treatment will always take

a couple of years. National Children's Dental Health Month

February was National Children's Dental Health Month: Dr. Emily went out to a couple of the local elementary school third grade classrooms to help educate the children about proper dental health. Dr. Tim and Dr. Emily also went together to their daughter's preschool to show a video and let the children practice brushing "Nemo's" teeth.

Announcements/Updates through Facebook Fan Page:
We have a "Bandeen Orthodontics Facebook Fan Page" By using Facebook, we can post office updates and information to keep patients updated about issues such as when the office might be closed for improvements or when the doctor and staff may be taking classes. It allows us to give up to the minute reports on issues that may be of important to you. If you are a Facebook user, then you can sign up to become a fan which means that our information updates will show up in your Facebook account, or if you are not a Facebook user or don't want to sign up as a "fan" of Bandeen Orthodontics, you can simply check our website here at BandeenOrthodontics.com for the latest information. We will keep a live feed from Facebook going here 24 hours a day on our website. This is just one more way for us to keep in touch and keep you informed. This feed will be available under "hours and announcements" even after we remove it from the "what's new!" page.

The Damon System:

The braces that we use are known as Damon™ orthodontic braces. This system of braces is truly unique and is always on the cutting edge (which is why we mention them on our "What's New?" page) Want to learn more? Actually, the folks who make the Damon™ braces are constantly seeking to improve upon what is already the best system of braces available, and the next generation of Damon™ orthodontic braces will be in our office either late 2009 or early 2010. The newest of the Damon™ orthodontic braces is known as the Damon Q™. The most important aspect of this system of braces is the mechanical advantage that is provided by the low friction interaction with the orthodontic wires, a category where the Damon™ System is beyond compare. The drastic reduction of friction provided by this system results in greater efficency and greater comfort. A very exciting development is that in spring of 2010, a completely clear version of Damon Q™ will be released. The release of the completely clear Damon Q™ will mean that the Damon System will be the world leader in both treatment mechanics and esthetics.
