Bandeen Orthodontics: Our Braces

We are using the latest technology in orthodontics. We use Damon™ orthodontic braces. The Damon™ System of advanced passive self-ligating brackets, high-tech light-force archwires and minimally invasive treatment protocols provides remarkable advantages for our patients. Some offices may offer braces that they claim are "similar" to the Damon™ System, but why settle for "similar" when you can have the real thing at Bandeen Orthodontics. The Damon™ System and Bandeen Orthodontics,

accept no substitutes.

Finishing or detailing of orthodontic cases is wonderful with the Damon™ System. Of course, proper initial placement of the braces is a key step to a completing treatment. In other words, starting out on the first day, having the doctor place the braces in the best location possible is an important step that should not be performed by anyone other than a doctor. Our doctors places all braces for all our patients. We do not believe that such tasks should not be delegated to an assistant. Whenever possible we use the computer aided treatment of Damon Insignia for precision placement of our braces.

Other "similar" systems of braces like Innovation are designed to have the door of the braces actually push the wires into the braces which dramatically increases friction during tooth movement. More friction means higher forces required for tooth movements which can prolong treatment unnecessarily. Also, research has shown that pushing the wire into the slot does not offer any true mechanical or clinical advantage. In other words, such systems really aren't advantageous which is why we use the Damon™ System. With the Damon™ System, friction remains low throughout treatment so the forces are consistently lower making treatment more comfortable and efficient.

The newest of the Damon™ orthodontic braces is known as the Damon Q™. It is even smaller than the already very tiny Damon Mx™. The most important aspect of this system of braces is the mechanical advantage that is provided by the low friction interaction with the orthodontic wires, a category where the Damon™ System is beyond compare. The drastic reduction of friction provided by this system results in greater efficency and greater comfort. A very exciting development is that in spring of 2010, a completely clear version of Damon Q™ will be released. The release of the completely clear Damon Q™ will mean that the Damon System will be the world leader in both treatment mechanics and esthetics.
